Delighted to announce that Jane has recently become a fully accredited member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees (the APPT). 

 

As well as delivering professional trustee services to our clients, Jane has been studying hard since she joined ProPensions in June this year and has passed the exams and met the criteria needed to achieve the accreditation.

 

An overnight doubling of the number of accredited trustees in the business!

We are proud of the continued growth we’ve been lucky enough to have experienced during our second year in business and, as always, we’re so grateful for the fantastic support we have continued to receive from the wider pensions community.   We have now been appointed by 15 employers to act as the professional independent trustee on their pension schemes, and we are seeing a promising flow of new opportunities to expand the business further.

 

With two fully accredited professional trustees on board, we are in the process of adding another string to our bow and we expect to be in a position to take on sole corporate trustee appointments in the New Year. 

 

Appointing a sole corporate trustee to replace the traditional trustee board won’t be right for all schemes, but it is a structure that we feel can work well in certain situations, for example:

• where there are challenges in finding trustees to join the board or

• to free up management time where the pension scheme is not connected to an employer’s benefits package for current employees. 

 

With Mike's actuarial background and Jane’s legal background, we believe we are very well placed to offer this option in the right situations. 

 

As we enter our third year, these are very exciting times for the business and we’re really looking forward to offering this new option in the New Year.
